Workshop de serigrafia com o Carapau Amarelo! Silk screen workshop with Carapau Amarelo!

Yesterday I took part in a silk screen workshop by Carapau Amarelo at Respigar (its a shop) in Lisbon! The chalenge seemed simple: "Bring yout t-shirt/ top/ white canvas bag and print your drawing! Bring a friend to work together. Learn one of the simplest processes to make print screen and yes, you'll be able to do it at home! We'll only use 2 colors and you must cut your drawing, so keep it simple!"
A menina seria vermelha e o lobo/folhagem a azul.

After doodling some stuff at home, I couldn't make my mind, but I knew one thing: It had to be a girl with a wolf... This was the drawing I ended up making (above). The girl would ve red and the wolf/foliage would be blue.

We cutted out our drawings in adhesive paper and placed them on the screen frame's fabric (above you can see my drawing and my partners, because we would both use the same color)
Primeiro teste, de uma das colegas.
First test, from one of the us.

...the first impressions were made on paper to test the process, the pressure we needed to apply and the whole density of it... First I printed all my blue wolfs (on a sheet of paper, on a cloth and on a bag) then I let everything dry, washed the frame, took out the adhesive paper and repeted the whole process to print the girl in red.
My first print on cloth was on this little cotton rag with little plants! At this time my fingers were so dirty that I left some fingers prints here and there...
Fiz também um saco!
I also printed a bag!
Unfortunatelly the picture wasn't centered... but in ended out looking pretty!

For last, I had forgotten to print the blue wolf on a canvas bag that was ready to print so I decided to print just the little girl!
With all the rush I forgot to open the eyes and mouth on the adhesive paper... thats why I ended up with this unsettling Little Red Ridding Hood...
(I might add eyes and mouth with a pen, later)

A Paraíso disse...
